200 Hour Course Overview

Lotus in the Flame's 200 hour yoga teacher training course provides the highest level of creative and progressive Yoga education in the field today. The intention is not to teach one particular "style" of Yoga but to set each person on a path of embodying Yoga, and living it daily. Only in this way can we truly create a force of inspired change both in our own lives and in that of others. As many teacher training programs focus primarily on asana, this training program additionally teaches a full spectrum of traditional HaTha Yoga practices - integrating the philosophies of the main paths of Yoga, the Heart of Yoga - Bhakti, Raja, Karma, Jnana and Tantra. We will study traditional texts, as well as ground these philosophies within the physical ~ energetic body as they are expressed within the eight limbs of Yoga as outlined by Sri Patanjali. This is a comprehensive program in giving the students a very practical yet diverse exposure to the history, lineages and modern developments within the world of Yoga today.

Format

The format is structured in a way that provides flexibility for those students that are working professionals and cannot take a month, or more, off to study yoga intensively. This format is structured in a four part series with several months between modules. During the time between trainings you will have your own personal sadhana practice as well as structured assignments to fulfill your non-contact and practicum hours necessary for certification. In this way, the art and practice of living yoga in your everyday life becomes more integrated. Each of the four modules have a different focus and intention.

Application and Certification

Although it is suggested that you have a minimum of 2-3 years of Yoga practice in order to apply, we will review all applicants with sincere interest. There is a $54 application and processing fee, which once accepted into the program is applied to the entire tuition balance. In each module you will accrue approximately 40 hours, additionally 9-12 hours at each weekend intensive. The remaining hours are fulfilled with outside assignments. You must complete all four modules, a comprehensive final exam, and all projects outside of our meeting times to receive certification at the 200 hour level.

Cost

The total course fee is $3,000 early Registration, and $3,300 regular registration. Each module includes all coursework, the course manual, and all class time materials.
